Words can't even describe how happy I am not to have to pump a single ounce of gas ever again. The funny thing is, the day of, that very morning, I was just ready to give up on everything. I was so tired of the grind, of nothing ever working out my way, of the unbearable lightness of being. Then, as if on cue, it happened.

Now the only real question I have to spend any time pondering is: what does one do with three million dollars?

I don't know about my neighbours, but I think Cordon would be a fine representative for my district.

Citizens of District 3, hear me!

Are you tired of local politicos spouting the usual dogma, making the usual weak promises? A resolution to amend the syntax in this bylaw, or to allocate a percentile of this fund to there? Wouldn't you rather see some actual change from a candidate who believes in your future?

People, I am that candidate. Elect me to City Council and I will ensure that the position is used for radical social change! It's time we cast off the shackles of our oppressors, sitting lazily in their seats of power, and made sure OUR voices were heard ringing through the rafters of democracy! A vote for me is a vote for a better future.

Can we make that happen, District 3?

    YES WE CAN!

I have to say that I'm pretty excited that West Side Story is being considered for a revival and that I have every faith in the talent and ambition of Rudasill to pull it off, but I think he's getting a little ahead of himself to start trying to cast it in such a preliminary stage. Of course it's deeply flattering and I've always felt that Tony is one of the many, many parts I was born to play, but I told him to wait until things got a little more solidified before I committed one way or another.

[Murdock's face is tightly framed in the picture, cast with a careful crisscross of shadows and moonlight. The background is industrial but nondescript; the general atmosphere screams 'abandoned warehouse'. What little illumination there is beyond the slats of moonlight is cast by a couple flickering candles, giving the whole scene an even more ominous ambiance. Murdock himself looks tired and unwashed, though just enough so as to look dramatic, not dirty. When he speaks there is a measured anxiety in his voice]

Last weekend was too close a call. They almost found me with their spybots - thank god whoever programmed those things didn't think they'd need the maneuverability to keep up with me. God help us all the day those robots know the city as well as I do. [He allows himself a beleaguered chuckle, running his palm over his face]

Still, it's clear the Man is stepping up his efforts to find us. This is good though, it means he's worried. And he should be. But it also means we need to be careful. If they found me, found us at this juncture... Everything would be ruined. All hope would be lost. I shouldn't even be transmitting this, but the people need to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. We are that light, and with God as my witness, we won't-- What was that?

[Murdock reacts to something off camera, suddenly wide-eyed and alert. He sits motionless for a moment, before snatching up his iHolo. The video continues for a frantic, energetic burst of running and leaping during which no images can be made out, and only his running footsteps and urgent breathing heard. Then, the screen goes blank]
